Chapter 11: “Turning the Story” and Conclusion

Turning the Story

Visual Diagram of the Three Components of Qualitative Research

This chapter will illustrate how to turn the story of “The Gunman Case” into a narrative study, a phenomenology, a grounded theory, and an ethnography.

General Problem:

“How did the campus react?”

Specific Problems:

studying a single individual’s reaction to the gun incident, how several students as a culture-sharing group reacted, etc.
